This march and vigil are to commemorate Anas Bennis, Fredy Villanueva, Quilem Registre, Gladys Tolley, Claudio Castagnetta, and Benny Matson, who were all killed by the police, and to support their families in their struggles for justice and truth. 63 people have been killed in Montreal alone by the police between 1987 and 2010. 300 people were killed or seriously wounded by police since 1999 in the province of Quebec. Out of these cases only 2 cops were charged, then they were both acquitted. Also, since the killing of Fredy Villanueva two years ago, more than 60 people were already killed or seriously wounded by police in Quebec.
63 personnes ont été tuées par le SPVM à Montreal entre 1987 et 2010. 300 personnes ont été tuées ou gravement blessées par la police depuis 1999 au Québec. Sur ces cas, seuls 2 policiers ont été accusés et les 2 ont été acquittés. Aussi, depuis la mort de Fredy Villanueva il y a deux ans, plus de 60 personnes ont été tuées ou gravement blessées par des policiers au Québec.
